Martin Scheringer is the president of the foundation board of the Food Packaging Forum. He is a Professor of Environmental Toxicology at Masaryk University in the Czech Republic and a senior scientist at ETH Zurich in Switzerland. His research interests focus on better understanding the fate of anthropogenic chemicals and the resulting human and environmental exposure. This includes the analysis of time trends of chemicals in human tissue, human exposure to multi-use chemicals, and pharmacokinetic modelling. He is the chair of the board of the International Panel on Chemical Pollution (IPCP). From 2015 to 2020 he was an Associate Editor of the journal Environmental Science and Technology. Over the course of his professional scientific career, Prof. Scheringer has been involved in multiple EU- funded research consortiums as well as in multiple research and capacity-building projects for the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP).
