Justin Boucher is Operations Director at the Food Packaging Forum Foundation where he supports the development and communication of research on the chemical safety and health impacts of food packaging and other food contact materials. He completed his academic studies in environmental engineering with a specialization on ecological systems design, air quality control, and waste management, including a focus on the transport of chemicals within international food trade. He then worked as a research scientist modelling the emissions and fate of fluorinated substances in the environment, mapping the life cycles of endocrine disrupting chemicals, and on strengthening international science-policy communication. He has co-authored reports for the United Nations Environment Programme on chemicals and waste, supported scientific discussions within the Stockholm Convention on Persistent Organic Pollutants, and co-authored a university-level textbook on the environmentally oriented design of chemical products and processes.
