Emily Christopher is a Research Scientist at the Institute of Occupational Medicine with a background in toxicology and hazardous exposures and interest in improving health inequities. She earned her Masters degree in Public Health at The University of Edinburgh and BSc in Biological Sciences (Human Health) at Heriot-Watt University. Emily works with pharmaceutical companies to establish safe occupational exposure limits and co-developed EU guidance on safe handling of hazardous medicinal products to protect workers. Emily gained qualitative insights on COVID-19 risks for the UK PROTECT National Core Study. Her previous roles involved genotoxicity research as part of the EU-funded GRACIOUS project which aimed to develop a practical framework for the grouping of nanomaterials. Through her research, Emily advances evidence-based recommendations to address occupational health challenges.
