Amanda Durkin is a PhD candidate in environmental epidemiology at the University Medical Center Utrecht. She currently contributes to epidemiological investigations and risk assessment of microplastics in maternal and fetal exposures. She obtained her BSc in Environmental Health from the University of Washington, Seattle and her MSc in Health Sciences from the Vrije Universitiet, Amsterdam. During her master’s internship, she examined the relationship between intestinal parasite infection in undernutrition and changes in body fat in children.
