Greta Välijärvi is a PhD candidate in pharmacy at the University of Eastern Finland (UEF). She is currently investigating the transplacental transfer of micro- and nanoplastics (MNPs) and the effects of MNPs on placental functions. She obtained her master’s degree in pharmacy at the UEF, and her master’s research focused on nicotine use during pregnancy and its effects on selected birth outcomes.
