Matthew Boyles, PhD, is a senior scientist at the Institute of Occupational Medicine (IOM). Matthew has a PhD in toxicology and a BSc (Hons) in Biomedical Sciences, and since completing his PhD in 2011 has gained experience within industry and academia assessing the risk, hazard, and toxicity of particles, fibres, and chemicals. Working as a consultant and under research grants, Matthew’s interests belong in understanding biological responses to potential hazards and the development of in vitro methodology to analyze toxicity and define risk. At IOM, Matthew is involved in risk assessment and human health impact and toxicity assessment of various occupational hazards.
